What-

Robotics, programming, animation, game design, video & sound editing, soldering in many forms, sensors, actuators, microcontrollers and wireless networks, as well as tech ed professional development. I created the content & led the first twelve classes at SparkFun Electronics, started the SFE education department, led one of the first teams in the US to teach microcontrollers in a public elementary school, copiloted SFE’s National Tour offering workshops to organizations and schools across the nation, created multiple lines of educational products, hosted multiple international contacts & led an Arduino class attended by 150 professionals at the first Make a MakerSpace in January of 2013. In 2014 I worked with Ugandan technology educators Fundi Bots to help establish the first public African branded technology education “space” called a Fundi Space. During this time I trained educators, managed a team doing curriculum creation, conducted more than thirty workshops, led an international Research & Development team in creating electronic farm automation solutions as well as prototyping multiple other product lines for clients. I have been returning annually (as life allows) ever since to teach camps as well as level up educators and engineers. In 2019 & 2020 I led a team creating art installations for the largest four day music festival in East Africa as well as working with a blind educator to provide a robotics system to teach the blind and sight impaired.

An eternal student & often teacher, I’ve founded a few companies while not traveling & teaching:

In 2021 I founded a 501C3 and gifted a robotics lab to a local middle school. From 2015 to 2018 I was co-founder and lead engineer at QuestBotics- a BlueTooth based educational robot that is capable of teaching debugging skills to toddlers and providing an introduction to “swarm” robotics for older users. I was awarded the 2017 Golden Mousetrap Award for Rising Engineer Star and was part of an award winning documentary about a team I work with in Uganda. I have received many grants to teach technology across multiple continents as well as helping to upgrade existing robotics labs. Currently I develop prototypes, create music, teach workshops, run a small farm, and make art. In my free time I play with a looper, microphones, turntables, CNC routers, tractors and chainsaws. I am very interested in startups and hope to help found at least eight companies over the course of my career. I am a dedicated team player and I am open to joining strong, honest teams pursuing interesting ideas.
